Rep. Peter Abbarno meets with students from Napavine School District at state Capitol

Rep. Peter Abbarno on Wednesday met with students and teachers from Napavine School District during their tour of the state Capitol.

The 20th District lawmaker engaged with students on a variety of civics-related topics and answered their questions for more than 45 minutes.

“I love engaging with local students at our state Capitol – it’s always the best part of my day,” said Abbarno, R-Centralia. “I was surprised by how knowledgeable the kids were on state issues. They kept me on my toes with a myriad of questions about the legislative process, state history, and current events. These students did the home of the Napavine Tigers very proud.”

Did you know? Many members of the House of Representatives, including Rep. Abbarno, have offices in the former Public Health building, now named after former state House Speaker John L O’Brien (JLOB) in 1989.

Speaker O’Brien served in the Washington State House of Representatives from 1939 to 1947 and from 1949 to 1993, representing South Seattle communities. The JLOB building will soon be going through numerous renovations.
